Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes)

A suitably modest shot of a sweet little bird.

Canon 1Ds MkII, Canon 100-400mm IS USM lens, 1/400 sec, f/7.1, 400mm at ISO 800

  1. What amazes me about Wrens is the volume of their song to the size of the bird.

  2. It is an amazing sound to emanate from such a diminutive bird. Interestingly, two skylarks were singing overhead as I took this shot – now that is a wonderful sound. The sky seemed filled were their myriad notes.
